Another Niagara Falls oil painting
I wanted to get another painting completed in a short amount of time. Based on the success of my last Niagara Falls painting I wanted to do another. I wanted to paint a unique view and I decided to paint one from under the falls. I wanted to give the sense of power the falls has. It is of the American Falls and is 12" x 9" oil on canvas.
Rochester Skyline Oil Painting completed
My latest oil painting has been completed. It is the Rochester, NY skyline at night. It measures 18" x 36" oil on canvas. I wanted to paint a skyline of a city near my hometown. I worked in Rochester NY for about a year before I moved to Arizona and drove over the bridge everyday.
I wanted to contrast the dark night sky with the lighting of the city. I really like how this painting turned out. I was influenced by a UK artist named Joe Bowen for the reflections in the water. His paintings inspired me to take on skylines.
Rochester, NY skyline - Work in progress
The latest painting on my easel is the city near my hometown. Rochester, NY is not the largest city, but it does have a recognizable skyline. This is a start to my Western New York collection where I plan on doing a few Rochester skylines, Buffalo skyline, and some paintings from along the Erie Canal.
To finish this painting I need to make a few small changes like finish the bridge and add the reflections in the water. It is turning out quite well and I really enjoyed painting this one.
New site!!
Hello everyone! I finally decided to stop being so lazy and publish my website. I decided to use SquareSpace.com instead of creating it myself using HTML and CSS. I was just too busy to create the site the way I wanted. However, squarespace gave me a lot of options and had a layout I was looking for.
I will use this blog style format to post updates and possibly some pictures of what is on my easel and works in progress. I hope this website will inspire me to produce more artwork.
